Geography teaching group
The Department of Geographical Sciences of Lorestan University started working in 2016 with a faculty member (Dr. Dariush Yarahamdi) and accepting students in the bachelor's degree in hydrology and meteorology. In the following years, with the increase in the number of faculty members in specialized fields of geography such as climatology, urban planning, political geography, geomorphology, and rural planning, the admission of students in the field of climatology at the master's and doctoral level began in 2013. In 1393 and 1396, with the launch of the fields of geography and sacred defense and geography and tourism planning, the admission of students in the master's level of these fields began.
Department of Geography currently has 8 faculty members in the specializations mentioned above, of which 3 people have the rank of assistant professor and 5 people have the rank of assistant professor.
The number of graduated students of the Department of Geography has been 350 undergraduate, 59 master's and 10 doctoral students. Also, there are 107 undergraduate students, 96 master's students, and 22 doctoral students.
